Advisory council

Safeguarding professional quality and accuracy.

The advisory council (fagráð) of Hagsmunasamtök Æskunnar is made up of specialists from the many fields that touch children's and youth issues. The council's role is central to our work: reviewing the organization's analyses and publications before they go live. That is how we make sure our data is always sound, our sources reliable, and the context clear.

The council is an advisory body and holds no management or decision-making power over the organization's strategy. Membership is volunteer work by people who want to do their part to improve the debate and the systems that serve children.

The work

How the council works.

Time commitment

Meetings roughly four times a year, plus requests to review reports or articles as needed.

Arrangement

Volunteer work where professional integrity comes first.

Quality review

All major publications go through council review before release.

Transparency

The organization publishes a list of council members (with their consent) to show the breadth of expertise behind our data.

Public administration and law

Specialists from ministries or municipalities, and lawyers with expertise in child law, public administration, or the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Academia and research

Researchers in education science, sociology, psychology, or other disciplines concerned with the welfare of young people.

Education, leisure, and sports

People with deep knowledge of schools, youth work, the sports movement, or organized leisure activities.
